My hair seems to be improving. Skin and fabric are next. Defining the shoulders when the lighting is top-down is difficult. Practice makes perfect!

Thundercats!

The brief was to paint two clients as Thundercats. It's an inside joke between the couple, which is cute AND gave me to the chance to learn some anatomy. Winner!

Bears

Todays anatomy studies were on bears. As much as I love the convenience of using a cintiq, I find pencil and paper much more useful when learning anatomy. With pencil and paper I have to live with the mistakes I've made, and it annoys me into not making them again!

I've been so quiet lately. So sneaky quiet. I have been working on something pretty special. As is often the case with commissions, I've been asked to postpone sharing my work with you guys for a short while. I am so excited to show you what I've been up to though. This shows the difference a week off makes to drawing abilities. I've had a lot of commissions lately, and I was clearly exhausted! A small break really allowed me to come back to drawing refreshed.
